Messy Church is church for children and families which takes place on a day other than Sunday.
At its heart is an act of worship, based on one of the stories from the Bible, which is accessible to children and is fun. The worship is interactive and the songs often involve actions as well as singing.
Before the worship, the children are encouraged take part in a number of craft activities – modelling with play or salt dough, making items linked to the bible story, painting pictures – helped by parents and leaders. There are also games to play and, of course, tea.
St Andrew’s have recently teamed up with Trinity Church which is just across from us fronting onto Union Road.
In future, West Street Messy Church will take place in Trinity Church Hall unless otherwise advised (see below), which is about three times the size of St Andrew’s hall and ideal for a range of activities. In 2017 we propose to hold it every other month on the third Saturday from 2 to 4pm.
If you and your children have not yet come to our Messy Church, why not try us out? The programme is set out below.
